A meeting of the German section of the inter country committee took place at the 22. 10. 2016 in Kassel also on the occasion of the conference's international service of the German inter country committees.
Rotary´s Point of Gravity
2/2016 is reported to rotary magazine in this over the main emphasis areas of the social activities of Rotary. Particularly the support of the projects is mentioned by monies of the Federal Ministry of economic cooperation and development (BMZ). This support also befits the GG projects good to the connection of the houses of poor residents in Egypt to the drinking water supply and to the sewage system.

The water project of the RC Oldenburg which was carried out in cooperation with the RC Heliopolis, Cairo, was completed successfully in autumn 2015.

On page 75 of the German edition of the Rotary Magazine September 2015 you will find a report on the successful start of the Global-Grant-Project ‚Water for Life‘ in Beni Sueif (Middle Egypt).
Rotary Clubs from Cairo and Munich together are working on the project which is also supported by the German Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Entwicklung und Zusammenarbeit (BMZ = German Ministry for Economic Development and Cooperation).

Contacts between RC Heidelberg-Alte Brücke and its contact club RC Alexandria
Contacts between RC Heidelberg-Alte Brücke and its contact club RC Alexandria
Periodical visits of Mr. Ikinger (RC Heidelberg-Alte Brücke) to the RC Alexandria were the basis for close contact between the two clubs since 1990.
In 2005, when the RC Heidelberg in toto traveled to Alexandria, a twinning-partnership agreement between the two clubs was signed, and regular visits followed in the ensueing years.
After a children`s clinic in Alexandria was destroyed by a fire, the two clubs in a jointly carried project purchased and donated a baby incubator for 8.000 US$.
Another joint action of the two clubs followed in 2000 at the occasion of the Alexandria Forum for Women’s Cancer and Health.
Throughout the years, individual contacts of members of both clubs formed a firm basis for a close Rotarian friendship.
