Vocational Training Team (VTT) project at the University Hospital in Sohag, Egypt, in progress

The diagnosis and care of the hearing of premature and newborn babies is discussed

A global grant project is currently being implemented in Sohag, Egypt, under the leadership of the Rotary Club Oldenburg. 5 intensive care units for children will be purchased. Associated with this is the training of 2 doctors at the University Children's Clinic and in the Oldenburg Hearing Clinic. 11 international clubs and the Foundation contribute a total of $ 110,000. Sohag is about 400 km south of Cairo, where the doctors work at the university clinic.
It is the second project of its kind with VTT - a third is already being planned.

Among other things, the care of premature and newborn babies and the diagnosis of disturbed brain functions using ultrasound, MRI and electrophysiology as well as modern aspects of hospital hygiene and infection management were discussed.

 

 

"WASH".Project = Water, Sanitary and Health

The Rotary Club Cairo Cosmopolitan of District 2415 in Egypt is executing a global grant project "WASH"

In the village of Kafr Darwish in Middle Egypt, the houses of the poor population are to be supplied with a water connection and a latrine, plus 2 community drinking water filter systems, biogas systems and a health program.

As a result of the first phase of this program, households have been provided with taps and sinks (131) and latrines (84). All villagers have access to safe drinking water.
 
Civil society was strengthened by the RC Cairo Cosmopolitan coordinating all work through a local committee from the village. The villagers were involved in all phases of the project to prepare activities, supervise execution with us and be responsible for maintenance and follow-up. Much is said about civic responsibility in the women's awareness program.

 

 

EDAM: Environmental-Development-Association-Moytamadeia

Extension of the sewing school for young women

It all started with the German Sister Maria Grabis, who started recycling in the 1980s. She is the founder of our cooperative and can be described as the "mother of the Zabaleen" of Moytamadeia. EDAM consists on 3 projects:

Es-Salam School

With more than 420 students from our Es-Salam School district, EDAM can be seen as the most important project. Classes in our school start in the first kindergarten class at the age of four and end in the ninth grade at the age of fourteen.

Health Beach Camp

During the hot summer we organize recreational trips for our community.

Nakheel SEWING SCHOOL

The Nakheel sewing school and workshop offers work and training opportunities for girls and women in our region. It is also a place to meet and exchange. The sewing school will be extended and refurbished with the donation of 10.000€..

The aim of EDAM was and is to improve the general situation of the urban poor in the recycling area of ​​Moytamadeia.

RC Cairo Cosmopolitan is the host club
